No. 5838 HMSS Chester 1897 (Maker Henry Matthews) Sterling Handled Scissors: A beautiful set of Victorian sterling handled scissors. The blades are marked STEEL. THe bows carry the hallmarks on both sides. The bows show a fantastical male face surrounded by foliage.10.2 cm long in excellent condition - they still cut very well. Price: $295.00.
No. 5656 c. 1953 Souvenir Coronation Embroidery Scissors: These little embroidery scissors are of a nickel plated base metal and are 6.7cm long. The shafts of the bows carry the "ER" and "1953" on each side. There is a small amount of rust on the inside blades and a small spot on one of the bows. On the top inside of the finger holes the plating has worn - otherwise very good condition and they cut well. SOLD
No. 5446 c.1900/1910 Italian Sterling Scistors: The scissor bows carry the Italian hallmarks for Ancona (AN) plus another two marks I can not identify - 925 appears on both sides. The blades are marked "Toledo" on one side and "Drop Forged Steel Italy" on the other. The scissors are sharp and cut well and are 10.5cm long. They are in very good used condition with some minor scratching to the blades. Price: $265.00.
No. 3758 c. 1800/1810 Georgian English Silver Scissors Sheath: Designed to protect the blades of the scissors - these sheaths are hard to find nowadays and are considered rare. It carries the maker's mark of Joseph Wilmot and has a blank cartouche. Engraved with a very nice leaf and foliage design - there is a small dent on the back that is hard to see otherwise in excellent condition.The photo shows the back as I was trying to show the small dent about half way down - the front is similar but with a small cartouche. 9cm long.
