Dressmaking and Decoration Service

I prefer to specialise in Performance Costumes (I prefer not to make standard bridal wear) but am happy to discuss any other evening wear, special occasion or hard to fit clients. If you wish to discuss a garment or make an appointment for a free consultation please call me on 0414 453 825 during business hours (10am to 4pm Monday to Friday) or send me an email with your enquiry.

I am professionally qualified - as are the workroom staff I use - and I am also a GST registered and insured business. I charge by the hour as I pay Australian labour rates - my costs are outlined below. As a result, I can not compete with online prices from overseas but rest assured that I can compete successfully in the areas of customer satisfaction, quality and fit. Referees can be provided on request.

As a very broad guideline - and subject to materials and fitting issues - gowns will start from around $1000 and lined and fitted jackets from $800. So getting something custom made is not a cheap option but you will end up with a quality garment that will last a long time with the right care. We only use the best threads and haberdashery and maintain logbooks for your viewing so we can accurately keep track of time spent on each item.

Here is the beautiful Sonya
. The dress is in a burgundy glitter velvet with a bodice of black stretch lace over burgundy lycra. It has a double layer of black fringing on the skirt. The full three layer bell shaped sleeves are in glitter chiffon with organza ruffles. A crystalled choker and a line of crystals in jet underneath the bodice add a bit more sparkle.

This is a photo of Mathilda performing with her teacher Marko from Danzon at the April 2013 Ball. This was an interesting re-work job as it started life as a skirt. The skirt was re-shaped slightly and then using rouleau I made strapping front and back and a choker to hold it all up. It also has loose strapping at the back to give movement to the outfit. All the strapping was crystalled. Lace motifs that I heavily crystalled and sequinned were added to the front and back as well as crystals all around the top of the garment.

Ralene is a teacher at Danzon (http://www.danzon.com.au). She is performing at the April 2013 Danzon ball with one of her students - Tim. The latin/rhythm dress (all the dresses come with a built in bodysuit) is made from sequinned lycra and has three crystalled straps on each shoulder. It has an asymmetrical hem and is slit to the thigh on both sides.

Here is a photo of Mathilda competing at ASDAC with her teacher Marko from Danzon (http://www.danzon.com.au). The gown is made from a textured stretch holographic velvet with chiffon godets and glitter organza flounces. The very full underskirt uses the glitter organza in the flounces and is also edged with crinoline. The gown and matching gauntlets have been extensively crystalled with Swarovski stones and an ostrich trim and crinoline have been used on the 10 metre hemline.

Ralene is a teacher at Danzon (http://www.danzon.com.au). She is competing at ASDAC with one of her students. The latin/rhythm dress (all the dresses come with a built in bodysuit) is made from embroidered red stretch lace with chandelle feather trim. It has an asymetrical hemline with a flounced underskirt trimmed in crinoline and satin bias binding. The back is laced with a black ribbon.

Here is Yu Ya competing at ASDAC in August this year with her teacher Marko from Danzon. The one shoulder dress is made from a deep purple stretch velvet  with a waist detail in glitter black lace with rhinestone buckle and a beaded lace motif at the shoulder. It has ostrich trim around the hem. It was decorated with Swarovski crystals (Crystal AB) around the neckline and shoulder.

This is a photo of Karen with her teacher Marko from Danzon. This was a decoration job and we turned a plain A line skirt and laced shoestring strap top into a dress that looked lovely on the dancefloor. Unfortunately, you can't see the bodice in this photo but it was embellished with a beaded and sequinned motif with the motifs also being used on the front and back of the skirt. The bodice and motifs were also trimmed with Swarovski crystals (Padparasche and Siam AB) and the skirt hem is edged with chandelle trim.

This is Mathilda performing her Tango routine at the last Danzon Ball in April 2012. The dress was a plain black sheath with single shoulder straps. It has been completely reworked - shortened - fringed and crystalled. I also made matching gauntlets and a choker in black venise lace and Swarovski crystals.

The YouTube link shows members of Subsdance performing at the Sydney Latin Festival in January 2012. I made the fringed and sequinned skirts. The photos below are courtesy of Subsdance.
