  Slight wear to the front - hard to see in the photo but mentioned for accuracy - otherwise excellent condition. Sizes 1-22. Price: $46.00.



No. 5833 c. 1870s Double Slider Brass Crochet Hook:  Marked on both sliders "Regd Dec 6 1873" this is a very interesting design with a slider each side that extends a different steel crochet hook from each end. In excellent condition - closed it is10.2cm and fully extended is 15.9cm. SOLD



No.  5829 Victorian mother of Pearl Crochet Hook:  This beautiful crochet hook has a plain but tapered shaft and has the most beautiful sheen to it. Probably french it is in excellent condition.  10cm long it was originally from a boxed set. Price: $58.00.


No. 5832 c. 1900 Brass Retractable Crochet Hook: This hook has a brass cover with a lighthouse motif at one end - no other marks - it is 9.9cm closed. The sliding steel crochet hook extends the piece to 14.3cm. In excellent condition. Price: $98.00.

No. 3607 c. 1950s Stratnoid Aluminium Knitting Needle Gauge: Stratnoid is the brand name of Stratton & Co., Birmingham, UK. This oblong D end gauge is shown in the Williams' book on gauges and is plated aluminium and includes metric sizes. 12.8cm long and in excellent used condition. Price: $28.00.

No. 235 c. 1870s Bone Figural Knitting Needle Guards: In the shape of pigs' trotters these knitting needle guards have the original rosettes and elastic. At full stretch the piece is 22.5cm long - each trotter is 4cm long. There is some staining and perishing of the elastic and rosettes but otherwise in very good used condition. Price: $230.00.

Un numbered 1930s Casein Emu Knitting Gauge: 16cm long in excellent condition. Casein is a plastic made from milk protein. Emu is actually an english brand - this gauge was made by Betterware, UK. Price: $25.00

No. 4411 c. 1930s Bakelite Paton's Beehive Gauge:  For sizes 1-18 this gauge has "USE PATONS KNITTING WOOLS" in small capitals along the base. It measures 8cm at its widest point and is in excellent condition. Also shown in Williams' book on gauges. Price: $30.00.

No. 4879 c. 1860s Silver Knitting Needle Guards: Both guards carry the 835 Dutch Hallmark for 1814-1905. Unidentified makers mark. Each guard is 6.5cm long. The interior (most likely felt/cork) and the joining riband elastic has long gone but otherwise the pair are in excellent condition. See "Needlework Tools and Accessories - A Dutch tradition" by Kay Sullivan for similar examples. Each guard is 6.5cm long. Price: $295.00.
